read 100 pages in one sitting tonight, shit is crazy as hell

finished inferno and interested in seeing what purgatory and paradise have in store for me

really taken by the atmosphere and prose. crazy to think about reading this in 2020!

it’s a little cornier than i expected but i’m liking the way exposition is slowly doled out and i’m enjoying the concept!

for school. halfway through inferno — pretty crazy they had us reading such a dense text in high school, but it’s pretty ingenious work!

for a contemporary literature course

reading the divine comedy in full for an english course… we really had no business reading this archaic ass shit in high school

toxic and hateful… this food is delicious! emily brontë you are loved. needed a reread before “wuthering heights” which will be terrible not because of period inaccuracy or miscasting but because emerald fennell can’t write a screenplay to save her life <3

hanya yanagihara is a source of evil but this book is absolutely beautiful

the formatting of this book pisses me off so bad and i’m frustrated because i love the content but why the ever-loving fuck am i about to embark on a 22-page chapter that is one unbroken paragraph… say sike!

second pynchon this year *gulp*

interested to see how this stacks up when compared to two titans of contemporary thrillers (sharp objects and gone girl), flynn’s prose is just as razor sharp but the mystery is definitely more of a slow burn

the only gillian flynn novel i haven’t read — thought it was apt for the fall seeing the satanic worship elements

chapter 5’s 40 pages tested my patience a little but in ways that kind of feels like pynchon’s point here — oedipa’s spiral into paranoia over perceived conspiracy that could or could not be hallucinatory is a lotttt and you kind of question the point, but i’m really along for the ride. love the dr. hilarius section in this chapter
