natalie is a real piece of work, but she’s so compelling — this is one of few books in which the author goes back-and-forth between the past and the present where i find that i’m actually more interested in the flashbacks than the present day storyline (which isn’t to say the central plot / conceit isn’t interesting, but the events leading up illustrate a fascinating character study!)

read 100 pages in one sitting tonight, shit is crazy as hell

really taken by the atmosphere and prose. crazy to think about reading this in 2020!
