riveting, unputdownable

Move over Paul Theroux. I have a new favourite travel writer. Patricl Leigh Fermor was only in his early 20's when he wrote this book. His command of the language is just amazing. I'm reading this slowly to savour every detail.

After picking up, reading a few pages even chapters, of various books, I grabbed my favourite author again: Paul Theroux The Kingdom by the sea. And within 2 pages I am hooked and glued. Oh he never disappoints.

Unputdownable. Great read. Will finish it within 2 days.

Since chapter 52 this book is riviting. The chapters are short and I keep re-reading chapters. Thought provoking.

Paul Theroux, oh Paul Theroux... my favourite author ever. But this is the first of his fiction I have read. When I read Paul Theroux I always carry 2 books around, his book and a dictionary and A Dead Hand is no different. I am already reading slower and slower because I do not want this to end, but I can also not put it down.

I am becoming bored now. The 3 characters seem to be doing the same thing, saying the same thing ove and over.

This is BRILLIANT a must read!!

I am taking a break from this one for now. Too much info for my frame of mind. Will pick it up again in Sept.

I have just finished David Balducci's First Family. Battled to get into it but half way through I could not put it down and read last half in one sitting (ok lying on the bed). Not my favourite author and I will probably not read another one of his.
