Well, it's finally moving past Dresden's trauma. I'm reminded why I like this series now.

Very slow paced so far, but the trauma from the last book is pretty extensive. Kind of meandering, but perhaps understandably so. Dresden's misery does make it a little hard to follow, since his observations are a little one-note.

It's been a long time since the last book. I wasn't sure Butcher would keep writing this series, or just add more fractional short stories. He's been ready to move on from Dresden for a long time. Looks like he has a book after this one planned, too, though, so maybe he's ready to push to an ending for this character.

I'm not sure why I like to read this series. I suppose it's just interesting enough to hold my attention, but not so deep that I have to pay attention.

Kinda slow moving so far. Lots of chapters with very little plot other than repeating established relationships.

This author is a guilty pleasure. It's well written, but very trope heavy. Really enjoy most of this author's works, though!

Slow progress here.... I'm reading this here and there when I'm in the mood for it. It's very cozy, has continuity errors and plot holes, but it's fun and the series is one of the few that can paint a picture of pure *wonder* quite so well.
