Well, it's finally moving past Dresden's trauma. I'm reminded why I like this series now.

Very slow paced so far, but the trauma from the last book is pretty extensive. Kind of meandering, but perhaps understandably so. Dresden's misery does make it a little hard to follow, since his observations are a little one-note.

It's been a long time since the last book. I wasn't sure Butcher would keep writing this series, or just add more fractional short stories. He's been ready to move on from Dresden for a long time. Looks like he has a book after this one planned, too, though, so maybe he's ready to push to an ending for this character.

Oh, I've read all the main books of the series before this one, it's just been since Battle Ground released that I've read any of it. It's been quite some time. I'll get through it no problem. It is one of my favorite series, and the very depressive first third of the book is absolutely warranted and appropriate even if it's not the most fun thing to read. And based on some of the things Harry is doing, I'm sure a lot of this book is not going to work out well for him.

I haven't read many of the side stories. And I don't recommend the series to anyone. I genuinely don't think the first ~2 books are good, and I don't think that's a hot take at all. I won't recommend a series to someone and say, "Don't worry, it gets good by book 3 or 4." That's just too disrespectful of their time.

Helia Nanashi DM me if you wana talk Dresden, I didn´t think i would find another reader who fallows it (as in depth) as I do. I can get quite annoying on the subject of books i get addicted to.

Helia Nanashi wait for real? why!? ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that´s so annoying!

I want to read more Dresden, but i have so many other books to read/start iḿ like; do I really go head first into dresden and get hurt all over again? I dono what i can say with out spoiling it for everyone because i am 65% of the way done with the book. I vote for a reading sprint tommrow! (i dono how we can do that with the DMS down) but we can try I have instagram if anyone wants/needs to vent after they´re done with it!

Helia Nanashi I think the only side story I read was the one with Mouse and....i forget his (daughter´s name) because i think it was either e-mailed to me, or in the back of Peace Talks or something. But Iḿ just like do i finish TN or work on my romance and than work on TN? Its really annoying and I dono what to do right now....
