A punch to the gut right out of the gate. Ughhhhh I have a feeling this is going to be a really, really tough read.

I DNF'd this one. It didn't feel revelatory, it felt like common sense. Meh.

Was gonna be a 3 star (I’m finding I struggle with a loping, rambling study of life type or book), but the ending moved me so I’m giving it a reluctant 4 ⭐️

Felt very self indulgent, which, I guess given the subject matter is to be expected. This was DNF for me.

Oh my heart. The last hour had me doing a lot of rapid blinking and my throat hurt trying not to cry. But at the end, I felt peaceful contentment with the way it all wrapped up. Backman does it again. Hands down my favorite author of the past few years.

A lot of what is being disclosed so far in this book are things I had a general knowledge/awareness of, but man...seeing it all laid out in a clear and concise fashion that my (distracted) brain can really process and sit with? Whew. What a mess we/social media/tech has made of our world. We are all complicit.

Solid 4.5. I love Jeanette Walls’ voice (listened on Audible) and she is a master story teller.

I'm really just getting into this book but "G.D." Olivia...LOLs - Throwing a religious cat into the mix is genius and I am loving it.

Holy hell this is good...listening on Audible but kind of wish I had done the kindle version because they aren't talking fast enough to tell me everything I want to know!!

Jesus be a factory farm...this is the most disturbing dystopian allegory I have read in a long, long time. I am horrified, but can't stop reading.
