I had to take a breather from this book for two reasons. The first being I found a really good fantasy series. I was thirsty to finish. I couldn’t read anything else, and the second thing is this book started to make me very upset. It was not the reunion between sisters I was hoping for and it just triggered some family trauma for me lmao

My question is: were the nightmares June had actually dreams or real?

Kidan & June: We trick ourselves into thinking love has to feel good but that kind of love sits on top of conditions. Unconditional love is what you find in family members.

Lord have mercy, the moral dilemmas in this book have finally made me shed a tear 🥴😭😮‍💨 and that is how you know you got a good book!

Chapter 45: I actually think Mavis gave Everest exactly what she wanted, just sooner than she was prepared for.

The love stories in this series is to die for… quite literally 😭 Right now it has my questioning myself

I do actually appreciate the attention to detail. It makes it easier to enter the worlds of these characters.
I do love a book that is told from different character perspectives
The last thing ill say is this series has a lot of different elements..
from vampires
to shape shifters
Inherited magic
zodiacs signs
reapers

The chapters are terribly long! It’s giving the authors wanted to fulfill a page count and just kept going on and on when it wasn’t necessary.

It was invigorating to read at first. I found the perfect book that combined my love for fantasy and reality. The way Dan created this fantasy world in Prague, interwoven with the realities of today made me want to keep reading.. but at some point the plot keep going when it should’ve been coming to an end
