Timothy is starting One Art: Letters of Elizabeth Bishop
One Art feels less like a calm acceptance of loss and more like someone trying (and failing) to convince themselves they’re fine, the repetition reads as self-persuasion rather than truth. The more she insists “it’s not a disaster,” the more obvious it becomes that some losses actually are.

Timothy is starting Ozymandias
Ozymandias shows that no matter how absolute a ruler seems, time will erase both their achievements and their ego. The real takeaway is that the only thing that lasts isn’t power itself, but how it’s remembered (or forgotten).

Timothy is starting The Second Coming
The poem suggests that when society loses its structure, chaos and extremism take over, as shown through the imagery of things “falling apart” and the loss of control between the falcon and falconer. This changed my thinking by making me realize that instability doesn’t just create disorder, it also empowers the most intense and dangerous forces.
