Awful compared to the author’s Extraction series. Awful full stop. The writing quality is like a kid wrote it. Too many mistakes and clumsy writing to list. I’m annoyed as I bought the whole series based on how much I fell in love with the other series. It’s too late now to return these books, so I can only hope his future books in this series get better.

A listen you need to focus on as a lot changes in a short time. I’m an hour and ten minutes in but may need to rewind a minute, lols. The lovely narrator lulls me to a relaxed state when I need to focus … ha ha. But, honestly, her voice is great. So far, really glad I received this audio arc.

Interesting first short story. Not a lot happened. A snapshot of two lifelong friends, with a far reaching and understated event in the past, told via an epistolary account & a bit from the son. Different to King’s usual story style yet filled with the in-depth characterisation you’d expect from this master teller of tales.

Look forward to story 2 when my eyes & brain are up to reading an actual print book, lols.

Only another hour of listening to go … I’m so hoping for a solid resolution 🙂

A fun and intriguing listen/read. Tending to listen as the text highlighter and narration aren’t matching up in my Kindle app.
Aside from the technical glitch, I’m loving this.

Can’t finish due to the narrator who reads as though he’s running a race and is continually breathless. Then come the odd long pauses and words cut short. Sorry, but though the story might be good, the audio quality spoilt it for me.

Loving this so far! Totally gripping 🫣🙂
