The book proposes “a new way of thinking” and “a new way of being human.” It is an ambitious undertaking. What follows in the preface and first chapter sounds, at least in tone, like a manifesto. Moreover, I find labels such as “true polymath,” “genuine polymath,” and “real polymath” somewhat troubling, particularly given that the very notion of what constitutes a polymath has not yet been sufficiently established.
