You know how Hermione was super overwhelmed and burnt out by taking too many classes? I feel like that's what this girl should be experiencing. Not only does she have two more classes than everyone else, everything here is new to her. But she's just stomping around being bratty, instead. She's single-handedly making this book such a bummer.

This book takes apathy to a whole new level.

I am enjoying this so much.

He couldn't control himself and hurt her in a low-stakes environment, so now she wants to see if he can resist eating her soul in a high-stakes environment.

Why is he cool while she's absolutely useless? Who gave her a job? Why would they bother?

I'm ripped from the story too often. The main character is ~special~ so she has an excuse to be erratic, but I'm supposed to believe that her best friend doesn't question why she never comes home? That she's been fighting monsters for over a decade but knows nothing and needs schooling? Something feels lazy and off and I really wanted more from the story because I like the writing.

We love a strong queen. But, uh, I'm bored.

Sorry but she's been fighting baddies for 14 years yet everyone but her knows to dip their weapons in salt?

This is... well written. How did this get on my TBR list?! 😂

Made it 50% before questioning whether I should DNF... now that I'm back, I'm pretty sure I should have. 😅

The audiobook is a challenging format for this style of writing. I need to pay a lot of attention.

Boring unless you're listening to it at 2x. Then it's just slow.

Oh no. I had to DNF the last book with a stupid bargain.

No really. I thought I was having fun hating Diem, knowing his disliked she is by readers, but now I just hate hate her.

Why do I like this story?! This is the most naive character. It’s painfully predictable. I can’t stop.

This book feels like a prequel. The naive girl isn’t fun. But I’m getting on board.

This is significantly less interesting than the first book. Should I finish it??

I stopped this book early February due to some personal events, but I was giggling and loving this before that. Now, I have no clue what was happening. NO. CLUE.
