I’m really enjoying it. Of course, I may be swayed by Sir McKellen’s narration. Am I allowed to spoil a 2800 year old book?

Listening to this on audiobook and I was surprised to learn that Ian McKellen is the narrator!
Also, we’ve been following Talimanicus so far. I thought I had read this book when I was in high school but maybe it was an abridged version because I definitely don’t remember this part.

It’s entertaining but I really wasn’t anticipating such a meandering story. Every few chapters is a new subplot. At this point in the book, things have finally started to resolve and tie things together. Hoping for a strong finish!

Still enjoying it. The little interactions are keeping me interested right now. I like the fun item descriptions and ridiculous humor.

The vocabulary is about to cause me to enter a temporal anomaly.

“It has to start somewhere, it has to start sometime, what better place than here, what better time then now” - I stopped the book and listened to the song very loudly before continuing. It set up the next part well :-)

I’m enjoying the story so far. The recent revelation from Roger makes me really wonder if this book is about to take a left turn with the story. If it does, and it’s what I’m thinking, it would really take this book up a notch.

Funny and entertaining. I like learning about the rules of the dungeon. My initial concern was that it was simply the hunger games trope plus D&D, but the writing is good enough to hold it apart.

I’m enjoying it so far. Since I’m reading Dungeon Crawler Carl at the same time, I can’t help but see the similarities in the plot set-up. I’m not bothered by it too much, but I’m partial to sci-fi settings anyway.
