finally reading the unabridged version :D

Chanel trying to get Ares’ attention while Ares is too busy brooding about his missing brother or whatever reminds me so much of Sakura and Sasuke at the beginning of Naruto.

I am not liking this book so far.

The plot is finally getting interesting. Still can’t get over the lack of dialogue tags though.

Why does this book have barely any dialogue tags?

I feel like the author’s writing style lacks subtlety, and it makes it annoying to read. There’s a lot of infodumping and the narration lays out the thoughts and feelings of the protags plainly. Too much telling, not enough showing. The dialogue very little body language or any non-verbal info being communicated, and the characters feel rather one-dimensional. Overall, the writing feels a bit too heavy handed.
