Honestly struggling with the language in this book, it appears to be pretty political and I’m just not getting it 😭 might be a dnf for me

Lowkey reminds me of the Netflix show Wednesday, but obviously the book is much better with a deeper plot

So far really enjoying this novel! The plot is interesting, good tempo (right off the bat, the mystery has been introduced, which I appreciate), the world building is great (I feel like I am at the academy with Edith) and, most importantly, the writing is great! I’m already invested in what’s to come 👀

Wild plot twist I didn’t see coming 👀

So far it’s alright. The story is interesting enough but the allusions to the little mermaid are sometimes so ridiculously exaggerated I have to roll my eyes. The writing is ok, nothing special in comparison to the last few books I’ve read but I’ll finish the book. Not so convinced that I will read the other Never After novels 🤷🏻‍♀️

From the very first page I knew I was going to enjoy this book; the imagery Martin is able to conjure is really something special and just pulled me into the story
The characters with their diversity and depth really come to life, and the metaphors she uses are as beautiful as they are nostalgic.
I am excited to see how our fmc story’s continue and how they continue to intertwine with each other
