I'm loving this! It's a cozy, sweet and faith filled story. The story just kicked off right away too which was super refreshing.

I read these as a teenager and loved both series so much I remember reading them a few times. I'm re-reading them almost 20 years later prompted by an America's 250th reading challenge. It definitely covers a lot of views of all the many events around the world during the Cold War really well. It's still good. Different as an adult, not quite the same oomph but very good still.

I'm a little dejected. I'm still enthralled with the wartime story line. But the other chapters of prewar are terrible. They are pointless to the story and not the clean stuff I usually read. I am skipping those chapters by skimming the beginning of each page making sure it's still garbage about a tipsy socialite falling in love and behaving immorally before she becomes the spy I want to read about. good but ick

A little dejected. I'm still enthralled in the war time part of the story but the other prewar story line is unnecessary and not the clean stuff I typically read. I find myself skipping most of those chapters, skimming the beginning of each page to make sure we are still watching a tipsy socialite fall in love and attempt the immorality she prides herself in before we get back to the spy. It's good but ick.

Ooo this book has me in a vice grip! I usually don't like split time lines like this seeing before and after at the same time but this is so good I don't even care. And just when I think I don't like the main before war she surprises me.

I'm dropping this. It's taking me forever to get through because there's nothing interesting to make me want to pick it up. The advertised premise is interesting but I'm a third of the way in and there's no whispers of that supposed premise happening and it's so annoying. Both couples are constantly fighting mostly because for it being 1888 the women have the most infuriatingly modern expectations and attitudes.

Ugh. I don't know this book is a struggle. It's told in a very annoying disjointed and completely discounted dual story line, seems to have no real historical stuff so far, and can't decide if it's a romance or mystery. It's also preachy. Very preachy. I think the premise is very interesting but this appears to be disappointing.

It's very good. The romance and match is very compelling. It highlights some aspects the Germans experienced in WWII that aren't often highlighted. It is very well written.
The only stumbling block I have is that any faith that is woven in is very Catholic, it is foreign and unique if you aren't Catholic but it's just a hiccup in easy enjoyment it doesn't derail the story.

Still unsure. It's very boring. It's a little confusing who is who and it switches timelines without a note at the chapter what year or what place. It's disorienting. But it's my only audiobook right now so I will trudge on.

It's very very slow. And so far there's no clear story. I don't know if I will finish it.
