Meh. It's a little better, the time spent in each timeline has lengthened out considerably. And the story is finally kicking off. Still feel like I want to like it a lot more than I do.

This is a long book. And it starts very slow. It's a mood pirate book with very little relief. On almost every page I want to like this book a lot more than I am so far. It's not a dnf yet... But I am conflicted. It's like I'm cheering for it and hoping it gets good. I think I would like it a lot better if it wasn't jumping timelines and spending so much time setting up the story. (which so far is how it feels).

I listen to audiobooks at work....so I mean I haven't turned it off and I do keep turning it back on. It has its interesting moments. It is slow and the out of order timelines still annoy me. I expected a pirate adventure. It's more of a historical drama about a very not well behaved very Irish woman who sometimes is a pirate without any adventure. If you like the feminist not well behaved woman and don't mind a story out of order then go for it. Caveat I did just at the end of work get to the point in the book of discovering is not clean. It's not a mainly a romance and it's not fully open door but very close to it. (I know that a lot of my connections on here like me care about that so jic)
