The world building is nearly nonexistent here; it feels like it should be book 3 in a series. Also, the romance isn’t bad but there isn’t much chemistry between the FMC and MMC, it’s likely because of the constant “it’s only the blood bond” reactions. The spice and yearning is nicely done though. I don’t think I’ll be continuing this series.

I’m at 65% and I can’t imagine this book getting better. I really don’t like romances where the plot only kicks in half way through. Alas, I’ll finish hit it’s a 2 star read for me.

I don't know if Raven intended this, but I am enjoying the side characters chapters much more than Slade and Auren's. I get the Slade is pissed, but dude, chill.

I am only 1/3 in and already know this one will be my least favorite of the series. I wish Raven had weaved more of Anwynn and Auren's background into the previous books. It feels forced and cringy now, with the new nicknames and the sudden worshipping of Auren.

I didn't think I'd like this book, given the trigger warnings. But, I wrong! Yes, Auren is a passive meek little mouse, clearly delusional when it comes to Midas and her "cage". Though its clear this series is setting up a slow burn coming-into-power for Auren. I hope that's the case because I can't wait for her to give these pig-headed men what they deserve.
