Was on the fence about whether or not I was enjoying the book until about page 200, at which point I decided I’m enjoying it. Gideon’s “snark” at times comes off just sounding like 2020 internet speak.

Liz is in India sucking at meditation and making it everyone’s problem. I am determined to not have this book be a DNF, but good god the author makes it hard.

I was on board initially with how Liz started the India section. The feeling of arriving to a new location in the dark and getting to wake up somewhere totally new is unparalleled; it’s my favourite part of the yearly Adirondacks trip. But then instead of doing what she alluded (going to bed), Liz does a 180, prays at the diverse temple, and writes the phrase “colonized by his stillness”

Went to Italy to learn Italian and has just dropped out of her Italian class because she felt it was impeding her progress in learning Italian in the streets of ~*Italy*~. Author also throws around the term rape way too much for how little I read this time before I couldn’t take it anymore and needed a break before it annoyed me too much.

Next time will be starting her trip to India. I’m ready for racism abound

Starting off strong. She’s already had her first come to god moment and refuses to consult lawyers to get divorced. By the end of this book I will hate this woman, I can feel it.
