onto part three - the prose is very easy and quick to read as a YA book should be - however the story is quite simple and i can’t help but feel like the book is marketed incorrectly as an “epic fantasy” when magic takes such a backseat

It feels like the author had a hard time deciding if she was writing historical fiction or low fantasy and things like ”he ran track in school” take me out of the world

This book is like popcorn - does it hold a lot of nutritional value no, but you just keep eating it
