Liked this better than the one I read earlier in this series.

In my younger days this would have captivated me by the kick-ass heroine but now it’s sad and WAY drawn out.
Decent plot. Lack of communication between H and h is maddening. Too steamy 4 sure.
But no doubt this author can write !

1st assignment: Jamie & Rick are captured and needing a rescue. Zach’s coming to the rescue.

Jules B throws a fit .. sullen on drive back ….
(More reality hits Harlequin book.)

FMC highly anxious.
Hero’s father OCD MD Dr. … and mother published author (divorced currently).

So this HR has FMC taking initiative to kiss the hero .. Just like another (HR) published this month.
Formulaic (of course) so huh.
2ndly, dysfunctional families “chaotic”, divorced SO is this likely to improve my reading ?
I think not.
Getting more soapy ? Or as Harlequin might say .. more real ?

Suspenseful !

Was one of them (Sig ?) being blackmailed ?
Is Sig the killer ?

Dee remembers going to church with Don (her 1st husband) and Nelly.
Dee sang alto in the choir. Good memories for her.
And Becky (Bobby’s wife) has the faith in God in their marriage.

Bobby’s grandpa “had been a Jesus man”.

What is Sig’s stake in this jury outcome ?!
He is D’s hubby, pediatric orthopedic surgeon.
