Reid of Mireh caught me off guard. Every single time he opens his mouth he surprises me and my jaw is left hanging. So far so good. The 3rd POV narration is working out for me and tbh Reid is making it so much easier for me to continue

3rd POV. Well there's a first for everything

I am 100 pages in & what is going on. What is going on between Lou & Reid? Like they just changed also they claim to love each other but I dont feel like they do. Like they think they do but they..don't? Also the plot? I never comprehended how they were able to get Lou out alive in the first place. Many covens of witches was present & no one defended their queen? The plot & the worldbuilding just faltered at a point

I'm trying so hard not to dnf this book because I can see the world originating from the author's mind. I can see her thought process and the similarities in her works, between the two series. I can see her love for red and purple. I can fucking see things I don't want to see. I'm seriously trying so hard not to dnf this book cause I don't know if I can keep going like this.

The cycle is—I yearn for the escapism the complex world building and structure of fantasy books provides————> I read a fantasy book (I read until I get to a really good one)————> the really good novel ends up breaking me————> I need relief from the plague in my mind, so i pick up contemporary literature————> I read Cont. Lit. until I can move on from the previously read fantasy, and then the cycle repeats.

Getting back to it now

This got really dark really fast, but dare I say I like it better that way? What's with me and masochism? Why do I like agony, trauma and ohmygodthatdidNOTJUSTHAPPEN so much? Why don't normal books and normal topics appeal to me?

And Lily was always mentioned as this meek girl but I felt like she had more to her than just that so I picked up Addicted to You. Now that I'm not consumed by the ending of the-book-that-must-not-be-named I'm feeling well enough to dive back into the fantasy world.
