Bennett’s love confession lowkey made me forgive him for what he did and he didn’t even do me wrong 😭

Men written by women absolutely love. The way that Bennett absolutely adores Clover is top tier. I will say, it gives After and Eyes On Me vibes because of the relationship being ruined by a self centered insecure mean girl and the catfishing and tricking the girl into thinking that the guy is someone else.

But the way Bennet adores Clover?? Oh he is so whipped.

The chemistry between Bennett and Clover isn’t something you can fake. They’re definitely into each other for sure, but Clover still hangs the incident over Bennett’s head which is valid. Yet I wish she would be able to forgive and move on. He’s perfect for her and vice versa.

But he was so wrong for creating a fake profile to flirt with her and mess with her feelings (at least that’s what I think what happened) like he couldn’t have been more mature and talk to her like a normal person???

For Clover to not like Bennett as much as she claims, the fact that she kissed him first says differently.
Bennett also gives if he yearns he earns energy. I want a Bennett.

This book already gives dystopian vibes. I enjoy howl Cynthia really portrays the role of older sister who wants to leave home but wants to make sure her sister, Evie, is taken care of above anything.

So Bennett and Clover definitely have a past and I’m ready to figure out what went down between them

Their lives so much simpler now that Conor has confessed his love for Maya, despite all of his fears. The growth that’s had to happen for him to start off as this guy who on paper, doesn’t seem to like Maya in that way, to now a man who loves her and worships the ground she walks on. He’s open and free about his love and I like that.

Conor seems like he loves to torture himself because it’s definitely clear he wants Maya but he’s all like “Oh it’s the age thing, it’s a power imbalance” but after the amazing O he gave her?? Stop pulling an Edward and let yourself be happy 🙄

So much yearning from Maya, but not enough from Conor or maybe his is internal. The flashbacks lowkey make me love him, then we get to present day and I’m like wow what a self centered jerk who will only show Maya he likes her in secret and subtle gestures. Which subtle gestures are cute to be honest.

This book reminds me of Promise Me by Sara Cate. The week before the wedding, two characters who were once in love or have some sort of past, forced proximity, shared inside moments between the two love interests. Maya and Conor better end up together though like Colin and Declan did.

Maya yearns a little bit too much for my liking. I want to see Conor yearn, but then again he’s a man so what more could I expect?

The tension between Maya and Conor is lowkey kind of enticing, can’t wait to finish this
