I wasn’t expecting this series to be so militaristically focused when I originally picked it up. Part of me wants to put it down for this, but the writing hasn’t yet felt provably objectionable. I’m holding my breath and holding out hope, the further the story develops, the more considerably nuanced it becomes. I’m especially interested atp in the motives of Mustang, Scar, and Lust, w/ regard to reformation.

Memory can be enhanced by utilizing the brain’s natural visualization capabilities, and imaging items representative of core concepts throughout a familiar space, such as home. Metaphors, analogies, associating ideas with the senses, and exercising, and reputation all help to improve memory and learning.

I’ve been especially pleased with this sequel as I near the mid-point, and delighted to discover a third is on the way. Kiki’s world continues to expand, and an emotional complexity, that I wished had been present in the original, is arising to the forefront. How Kiki will navigate herself hereafter, I am enthused to know. Hopefully, in her search for security, she can find solace in Tombo & Mimi.

Choking happens when working memory is totally occupied, and unable to balance all necessary concepts for reaching a solution; chunking condenses these concepts in your mind, to leave more space for working memory. Recording goals, big and small, takes a load off of memory, to focus more effectively on particular tasks. Procrastination cues should be logged over time and slowly addressed to transform habits.

The seekers are subject to unexplainable, torturous things; the house has begun to haunt. In the case of Eleanor, more so than what she is exposed to, is the nature of being exposed, which leaves her mind in anguish. Luke seems to be an inadvertent instrument of strain between the ladies, provoking deep-seated insecurities.

Kiki on her new deliveries is pushing the limits of what she thought possible, and her voice is becoming more assertive. Furthermore, she is beginning to ponder what it might feel like to share something special with a special someone.

The key to overcoming procrastination is utilizing willpower to cultivate a more productive reaction to a habitual cue.

Focused-thinking & diffuse-thinking can be integrated together to maximize retention. Chunking is a process whereby memories are condensed by association to free space for numerous recall processes. Procrastination is a habitual barrier to effectively processing and retaining new information.

Dr. Montague and his associates get to know each other, and they all seem to get along quite well. The doctor is hesitant to share immediately what he knows of Hill House, out of fear they will attempt to leave in the night. He gives in, after they earn his trust. Eleanor is, recognizably, particularly uncertain of the situation, and especially perceptive of the ways the others perceive her. Perhaps the house is too.

It took no time at all for Hill House to oppress Eleanor upon arrival, though she’s seemingly found a good friend in Theodora, a second arrival, but, for comfort, not soon enough.

Kiki’s Delivery Service, I quite enjoyed. It was simple, but cute, and I only wished there were more. To my delight, I realized a sequel had been written, and wasted little time to acquire it. I look forward to spending more time with Kiki, and, hopefully, her friends as well. Tombo & Mimi, especially.

Focused-thinking and diffuse-thinking are two modes of thinking we switch between. The former is more intensive, while the latter is more abstract. Focused-thinking can block our initial ability to solve problems, by hyper-fixating on an erroneous approach (einstellung). Procrastination forces sparse focused-thinking, resulting in a strong disadvantage of information retainment.

I’ve reached the final volume in this omnibus, and I suspect I’ll be interested in the next. The second volume became interestingly intense, and as long as the manga continues to broaden the subjects, then explores the complexities of them, I’ll be along.

I continue to see myself in Kiki.

After a freeing journey, Eleanor experiences a quite unwelcoming arrival to Hillsdale and Hill House…

I’ve completed the first volume, and I’m looking forward to continuing. I like the alchemist brothers, and I’m hoping to learn more about them, and be introduced to more, lasting characters. Like, will I ever see Rosé again? I was quite interested in her development…

Kiki is beginning to resonate with me deeply. She seems an empathetic soul, anxious about the world, while determined to find her place in it.

Kiki, after having made acquaintance to the fellow, older-sister-like witch, received some words of encouragement from her, then set to the big, coastal town, Koriko. Here, the local welcoming was not sufficiently warm, but Kiki then found solace in a pregnant baker woman named Osono, after having helped her with a special delivery.

Kiki, now having set off to come of age, determined to make this journey uniquely her’s, encounters a fellow witch, of Kiki’s senior.
