rereading this, especially after reading all those medieval morality plays and idk… dr faustus?, is really interesting lmaoo

this book might just be a 21st c. morality play

willy: [recites one of shakespeare’s lines]
shakespeare: [giving feedback] do this in iambic pentameter!

but the line willy was told to recite has a spondaic substitution in the first foot…it would be unnatural to say it in iambic pentameter…

some men don’t deserve to exist

i can’t escape eyeballs can i

how can the book be even better than the already perfect movie🥹😭

i dont like kids. where’s the gay stuff?

this is so cute adorable and funny it’s making me audibly giggle as i walk to class

best way to read this without falling into crippling depression is to intersperse this with chapters of yuri

what is wrong with these kids

why do i have to write my essays. can i just chill and binge read my yuri instead.

im having the time of my life

this is so depressing. the most depressing shit i have ever read. i honestly can’t decide whether i love it or i fucking hate it.

when lucy gray sang to the snakes, the narrator just recites: LA LA LA LA LA LA LA in the most monotone voice. it’s cracking me up

this feels like reading the equivalent of an asian jane doe complaining about mundane asian things

I wish they made Rachel Zegler sing in the audiobook bc why is this man just reading out the dialogue in the most monotone voice

i think i didn’t get this book when i was reading this back when i was 15 … it’s so much better this time around

great introduction

i’m in too deep to dnf this now💀

this book is making me realize how annoying kids are. it’s lwk convincing me that artificial kids are less annoying.
