LaDawn is starting The Cafe on Amelia Island (Seven Sisters Book 2)
Ugh! Again with the whimpering! Why do all of Hope’s women whimper?
I’m loving the story but this is only the second book and I’m already so annoyed with that word!

Ok. This is the third in the series and I’m already beginning to roll my eyes. Tony has just met Ilsa and is already in love with her. There was an electric current between them when they touched. See where I’m going with this? Pretty much a carbon copy of the first two books’ romances.

I like sweet romances, but it would be refreshing to find one with a love that develops a little more realistically.

LaDawn is starting Smoke & Summons (Numina #1)
I'm having a hard time getting into this story, not to mention that I'm not fond of the female narrator, either. The boy's story and narrator are better. I'm going to set it aside for now.

I'm finding that just because I loved the Paper Magician series does not mean I will like all of Holmberg's books.

As one suffering from chronic pain and fatigue, I can do relate to this book! I will be recommending it to everyone!

Nearly half done and I am more and more exasperated by this woman's ego. She thinks she and her dog are above following the rules. And she whines whenever someone tries to tell her to follow the rules.

I don't know if I'm going to be able to finish this one. Only in the first chapter and it's already driving me crazy.

The characters don't use contractions when speaking! That is one of my major complaints of indie authors.

Ok. I've started this one, but it is one I am only going to be able to read a little at a time. It is too heart-wrenching, even while it is uplifting and spiritual.

Listening to this once again, this time with my 10 year old daughter. I'd forgotten how colloquial the language was. But we are both enjoying it.

Like the story, but I'm getting really tired of the editing errors.

LaDawn is on page 34 of 272 of How to Date an Alien (My Alien Romance, #1)
I don't know if I'm going to be able to finish this one. I'm at the end of chapter three and already getting shades of Twilight: instalove and overly brawny, overly protective boy/alien. Even the circle of friends reminds me of Twilight.

LaDawn is reading Into the Shadows (Into the Shadows, #1)
Reading this on my iPad. Unfortunately, I don't have much good to say about it so far. Needs a good editor. Dialogue is stilted. The characters rarely use contractions when speaking. Lots of grammar errors. (Was this self-published?) As for the storyline: I just finished watching "Heros" on Netflix, and this book seems to be a direct rip-off of that. I'll continue to sludge through and hope it gets better.
