Yep, just read it, and yes, reading it again immediately. I was going through the text and fixing a couple little text layout things when my computer decided to not save any of the changes I made. *sigh* Gotta love technology. :(

Oh, that moment. That moment when Graeden's secret is revealed. I loved writing that scene. :D

I forgot how much I loved writing this book. From a dismal socialist dictatorship where thought crime is a thing due to telepathy, to a prosperous capitalist society where technology is beyond what we have in the real world, and then throwing in a country that's all below sea level, where magic lives...Yeah, fantasy fiction rocks! And the mysteries in this one! Who is Asenna? Who is she talking to? Who is the killer?

Yep, reading my own book. Because I can. And because I need to get my mind back in my fictional world after too long an absence. Rediscovering a love for my characters and my settings...what better way to wrap up a crazy year?

I know it's just fiction, but...damn. "That there are gay guys out there who aren't going to run a mile when they find out I was born a girl...You made me realize it was okay to be me. And that I could actually find someone." So many feels.

Oh my god, feels. So many feels. Super supportive boyfriend to the trans guy. LOVE IT.

Read this half a dozen times, and still love it more each time. Going through it again, knowing what's going on rather than discovering it for the first time, I get chills every time Eddie Willers speaks to the railroad worker in the cafeteria, knowing who he is, and when Frisco pulls off all his stupid playboy stunts, and knowing why he does so...
Good gods, I love this book.

Skipped ahead. The prologue was too flowery, the Before section too boring, so I pretty much skipped right to the After, and even still I'm skimming a lot. It's nice to read about the changes that come with hormone therapy, but there's so much extra fluff that I'm about ready to DNF this one.

Completely off-topic, but...

Mr. Klune, a 2012 Toyota Corolla has a timing chain, not a timing belt. The nitpicky little things that 99% of readers wouldn't even think about. And this is exactly why I have got to get away from my day job, because I know shit like this and I don't want to! TJ, how did you do it? How did you manage to leave the day job and write full time? I'm so insanely jealous, you don't even know!

Holy hell. I'd like to think I've developed a pretty thick skin when it comes to reading about rape, but...wow, this is dark. I'm gonna need a minute... *breathe*

Really should not be reading this at work...laughing waaaaay too much. Swear to gods, nobody does sassy humor like TJ Klune. This is going to be a 5-star read for sure (no surprise there!).
