Ms. Winspear has never mastered British titles. In this novel a man who is an "Honorable," and thus either the younger son of an earl, or any son of a viscount or a baron. We know the Honorable in question has come into an estate on the death of his father because his older brother, the heir, died in WWI. Therefore this gentleman should no longer be an Honorable--he should be an earl, a viscount, or a baron.
