This is so ridiculous! He says you can't ever leave and that whole night and the next day you only make ONE protestation? About him sleeping in the same bed. He says he is, pulls you up, and you relax into him?! Really?!?! And the next day chatter on about your life then let him go down on you happily? This is so stupid. IDK if I can finish this ridiculousness.

So after 3 years in the military, you had completed 2 tours?! Fact check somebody!

So the guy tortures the President's woman to death while he is tied up and forced to watch, you set up one of their guys on false charges and send him to jail, but it's only NOW, when he wants to buy the woman you bought that you decide to break ties with him and go after him?!?! Why does anyone think ANY of this makes sense?!

This book is so absurd! She's bought & sold, but it's ok b/c he's hot? A brothel owner is trying to make a deal with the H to buy her, but the h buddies up to the owner, they havea heart to heart &hug each other bye? You can buy a woman for a couple hundred dollars?! The h finally acknowledges what the H does is wrong but immediately brushes it off saying she's "just being emotional" and doesn't want to leave? Really

Ugh! Only 18 pages in and the outlandishness is already irksome. A fireman who ignores orders, runs in without a plan or team, the supervisor apologizing when the H was correct in his gut reaction and disobeyed a direct order, a doctor who refuses a patient's request to leave... Really?! And like I said, I'm only 18 pages in!

2 chapters in and already can't stand the characters.

Oh no! Please don't do the corny "abusive ex suddenly turns into a good guy in 1 phone call" bit For the love of all that's literarily holy!

I feel like I just turned the page onto another book entirely. The entire conflict just "fixed itself" offstage, which is something I hate in a book, then the next chapter is 12 years later and all of the characters seem to have changed. I don't like any of them. I really don't want to finish this one and am loathe to read yet a third book! Ugh! What the heck happened?!?!

Not a fan of this book so far. It borders on rape a little too close. When you hold someone captive then practically jump them... not so much. And can I say, in the middle of a sex scene and he says "Daddy will take care of that." That's just weird/creepy.

I feel like she is flying through everything rather than having it develop. The story will lead up to a topic then ends the chapter. The next chapter starts by looking back to what happened and summarizes it. it "tells" us what happened rather than showing us what happens. I am not a fan of this writing style. We'll see how she makes 4 books out of this, even if they are novellas.
