This book is a meandering stroll through as colorful vision of the afterlife. I read in chunks, put it down for a while, and then come back to it after reading other things. Nothing much is happening as far as actual plot which would be a turn off in most cases, but the concept and characters are good. Just taking it like a lazy river and going with the flow.

This book needed a stronger editor. It’s a lovely story but it meanders and the pacing lags. A good book in need of a better structure.

This book needs an editor. I’m alternating between reading and listening and it needs tightening up.

Off to another boring start. Genevieve is still annoying but I’ll give her some grace for trauma.

Genevieve is not the smart Grimm sister. At this point I really don’t know how she made it that far through Phantasma. It’s very obnoxious lol

It did get more entertaining after a kinda boring start. In the last 50 pages and will read book 2 right after.

I think my issue is that while the story is fine, it might be a little better if it was in 1st person instead of 3rd. There’s a detachment from what’s happening that is making it a little boring.

It’s not that I’m bored. Like I’m having a fine time. It’s ancient shadow daddy meets super special girl who doesn’t know she’s the prettiest girl on the planet and doesn’t have a fully developed frontal lobe yet. It’s the base of all romantasy and it’s fine… I’m just kinda bored. Also the setting in a fictional version of New Orleans feels unnecessary

I have been laughing for 20 pages. This book is insanity.

You know what this book is? It’s a train wreck you just can’t look away from. You just keep watching, and cringing, and sometimes laughing uncomfortably.

Well so far I hate Tem more than ever and this “plot” makes no damn sense.

Every few chapters I ask “wtf is this story??” and then I keep reading

There is too much sex in this book. That is a difficult threshold to reach for me. It’s getting in the way of the pace of a fairly interesting plot. It’s not even bad sex, it’s just too many pages of it.

Also the final line of chapter 20 made me go “wtf is this book??” 😂

This book is painfully boring.
