Holmes and Watson variation, substituting women as the protagonists. First story was too predictable, but they're getting better.

Returned my Nook STR, so I'm toting around my big old paperback version again. How do you change the font size on this thing?!

Switched to an ebook yesterday on my new Nook STR! It's the Project Gutenberg version (Maude translation) via Mobileread.com, then converted to ePub with Calibre. Oh, and the book? It's starting to get a little more interesting!

Reading a paperback copy. It is one big and heavy book! I miss my Kindle, which is "on loan" to my daughter.

There's going to be a "Night in Rio" party at Desmond's. Ray is reluctant to go, not least of the reasons being that the only thing he can find in his wardrobe appropriate for the party is a pair of red socks with palm trees on them.

If you haven't noticed, T.R. Pearson is giving away copies of his new novel, the 4th Ray Tatum novel. The author has said that the books don't have to be read in order, but I'm just kinda like that anyway, so I'm starting with this one. It's hilarious so far!

A maddening read. I hope that no daughter of mine would ever be as easily manipulated by others as Tess is!

Description of life at an English dairy farm in late 19th century is the most interesting part to me so far.

Had some time to read this morning in the waiting room at Quicklane Auto Service. I started snickering when great-grandmomma rode the sled over the hill and out of sight. The other guy in the waiting room got up and moved a few chairs away from me.

The cadence, which is similar to "A Short History of a Small Place", only maybe more so, takes some getting used to. But once you do, the book is hilarious but poignant too.

I have to re-read the occasional sentence or paragraph in this book in order to understand it, but overall, a little easier to read than "Pride and Prejudice".
