Re-reading, going to see the Guillermo del Toro movie coming out this month!! I have been worried I'm losing all I learned in school, but reading this now has actually been way easier than I remember it being in college, so yay me? Also went down the Northwest Passage rabbit hole so that's fun.

I strongly dislike the I'm-hot-but-look-how-deep-and-dark-I-am, snobby, Cool Girl, hyper judgmental protagonist. I don't even dislike her because she murders people for stupid reasons - that's a separate issue. It's because she thinks she's hot shit but in the end she bows to patriarchal norms like a good girl. But you know, train wreck and all that. And I believe in women's right to be as insufferable as men.
