Not even the first book was this hard to get through, how is this possible Erikson???

The mental and linguistic gymnastics... I can't... it's so funny hahahah

So far it's a really enjoyable book. My only issue with it is the constant (*constant*) descriptions of George as pudgy (I've never seen the word pudgy used this many times in fact), jiggling etc. The boy is by far the smartest and and wittiest of them all we should have some respect smh.

I've been holding on but I think that's it. I'll probably finish this book and not bother with the next ones. You can't just spend one entire book setting up a fantasy world with "ironclad" rules then burn it to the ground in a page. So much happens so fast in this that it is enough for 2 books but we spend pages upon pages for an unnecessary carriage race to prove supremacy? So sad, I really liked the first book.
