The previous book ended on a helluva cliffhanger, and has no sacred cows, no matter how beloved the characters and concepts are, so I'm enjoying this reimagining of the classic Mobile Suit Gundam tale. It definitely feels more adult and Tom Clancy-like than the original material, reminding me a bit of Red Storm Rising. Especially with the heavily detailed battles and tactics.

So far, I'm enjoying this book a ton! The first half feels like one detailed and tactical action scene after another, and so far, the second half seems to be heavier on the politics and backstory of the Gundam universe. So basically, everything I like on a novelization.

I also found this book to be surprisingly gory at the beginning, and generally much more adult than either the show or film.

A third of the way through Southern Cross, enjoying it a lot so far. It's the first time I've read a novelization of an anime, and I like all the extra detail this book has, especially regarding Dana Sterling's past, and the state of Earth after the Zentradi massacre. I'm planning on reading this whole series.

Excellent book, with tons of added lore and Easter eggs for Burton-era Batman fans. Even minor characters get a lot more screentime here. It's clear this book was a labor of love from the author.
