There’s “spicy” books and there’s *SPICY* books and this is the latter (complimentary).

This is absolutely beautiful.

I’ve already seen the movie but I needed a book to read at work.

Engaging so far!

This ranks among the densest and most well researched history books I’ve ever read.

I started this a few days ago, reading the abridged “standard” version that’s “only” about 1000% pages and I am absolutely engrossed. And I’m not even that huge of a Beatles fan!

This is an English translation of a Japanese book and I think it helps if you’re a little familiar with Japanese-English conventions. So far it’s great.

It just makes me angry. Incredibly angry at these people.

Diving back into this again, it seems especially relevant.

Kind of a slog to get through honestly. Not as good as Dracula.

Reading this as an adult the casual threats of spanking really really upsets me, as does Ramona's father's reaction to her anti-smoking campaign. There are times when Ramona says taht she felt things were better between her and her dad but as an adult, I'm not sure of that at all. Overall the book really bothered me. I can understand why this was a good kid's book when it came out. There are better choices now
