Having just OD’ed on the gorgeous and mindblowing AMC adaptation (Sam Reid as Lestat! I will never get over how insanely perfect he is in that role!), I feel an overwhelming need to read this book again for the fourth time.

I’m taking a break from this. It’s so slow, barely anything happens, especially in Narin’s parts. There’s an overkill of water metaphors. The writing is beautiful but it’s just not enough. Only reason I’m not DNF’ing straightaway is the money I paid for this. But I doubt I’ll ever finish it.

I mean, I don’t mind slow books but this is reeaaaaaaaaaal slow.

Beautifully written but it somehow takes forever to read.

Huge five star potential. Excellently written, it feels a bit like reading Natasha Pulley, which needless to say coming from me is a compliment.

Calling it quits. I think this book is incredibly overhyped.
