Holy moly I love this book so far

Delightfully bonkers!

The religious extremism aspect is too terrifyingly realistic. So far an excellent listen, darkly funny and very creative.

I love these MCs. Such honorable, vulnerable, strong characters. And I’m tickled to visit with Brindle again.

So far, this is a fun, escapist read.

Funny so far

Wow, one of the most unlikeable heroines I’ve read in a while. I hope we can move past her fixation with exteriors- hers and others.

So far, i do not understand the hype for this book. I dislike every single character except for the chauffeur. Every character is pure hyperbole, either perfect or evil.
And how are there so many humans invested in breaking up this couple- two humans who have ZERO chemistry?

I’ll hate-read it a while longer to see if there’s any connection or happiness.

I rarely read gothic suspense, but needed an October mood read. Narration by the talented Mary Jane Wells makes any book doubly enjoyable, so i gave it a whirl.

So far, it’s been delicious: atmospheric, pulse pounding, spooky, and heartbreaking. I love the grit and tenacity the heroine has.

CW: PTSD in just about every character. Past domestic abuse, substance abuse, and mistreatment of mental patients.

Omg, this is the most charming thing I’ve read in a while. I’m a total sucker for cute alien animals and sweet, smitten alien boys

Delightful so far!

Wow, this is a slooowww burn. Delicious, though. And still so very sweet.

I’ve been saving this for a day with extra time, because i know I’ll want to devour it all at once. So far, it is utterly lovely and sweet. The sheer kindness and respect that the MCs have for each other is warming my soul.

Oh. My. God. This book is so hot. I’m in love with the hero and his huge heart and filthy mouth.

Oh lawdy, i love these characters. Except Kiersten, she can fuck off.

A big shy giant of a guy who fosters animals? Um, yes. He goes all tongue-tied when he looks at the heroine, freaking adorable.

I’m learning so much here!! Such interesting immersive history.

Goodness, Ruby has outdone herself with the sweetness and hotness (so far). Definitely my favorite of hers yet, will see how this plays out.

Learning so much about history of civilization and the origins of textiles. Very absorbing read (listen)

The Christmas present. My heart!

Third reread. I’d forgotten how devastatingly sad this could be in parts. Sheridan really knows how to craft a sympathetic story. The loneliness the hero endured leaps off the page and gnaws at your soul.

Ok I’m only 13% in and I’m totally gone for both MCs. They’re adorable, and why are gargoyles suddenly so interesting?

God, Peter is so smart, funny, and utterly besotted. Harriet is the kind of woman i wish to be, courageous and creative. And Sayers was a master of dialect and dialogue.
