Strange and boring.

At a little over 25% in, I'm not enjoying it. It's slow, and the main character seems like he has always let life happen to him rather that living it. I'm hopeful it will improve.

It's fantastically tongue-in-cheek, and I am quickly becoming a fan of the protagonist. A great start!

So far, a delightful exploration of true friendship and slow-burn suspense.

So far this novel feels like something out of the 1970s. It is from a very old-fashioned, masculine bent, which leaves me bored and dissatisfied. How old is the author? 87?

I will probably finish it because I'm feeling stubborn, but damn. I wish I had picked a different book.

I already feel solidarity with the protagonist; I'm pulling for her!
