I’m really enjoying this book. It has hooked me for the series with curiosity about a great many things.

This book is a fun spinoff from the original trilogy.

This is a good book. I started by listening to the audiobook but I didn’t enjoy the narrator‘s voices.

So far this book reads like a history book so far. If it doesn’t get better I won’t finish it because there are better things to read, but I want to give it a chance because Martin’s other books are so well written.

This is not to ignore hurt or pain but learning to deal with them in a way that you are not controlled by your anger damaging yourself and those around you. Anger begets more anger.

When a man takes friends out for dinner and picks up the check, his friends may begin to say how good it was of him to pay for them, but he simply lifts his hand in a gesture that says stop and he says, “It was my pleasure.” In other words, if I do something for the joy of it, the impulse of pride is broken. The breaking of that impulse is the will of God and that is one of the reasons I have written this book.

Aren’t service projects really just to advertise your church? ... but we knew that we would loose our integrity if growth were our reason for serving. Such an attitude would also rob the service of power in people’s lives.
