Rereading and annotating. God I love this book so much.

I listened to the first half of this while cleaning so I definitely missed some stuff but I feel like this book can be pretty forgiving of that.

I spoiled the ending of this series for myself with one simple google search and I actually hate the trope so much I might just never finish this. IM SORRY. ITS A YOUNG ADULT BOOK I WANTED SIMPLE MECHANICS GET IT OUTTA MY FACE.

I love R.F. Kuang’s undeniable way of making white people uncomfortable. (I am white and uncomfortable)

Started off good, now it’s just cringey.

But I kinda like it? Loren is annoying and sometimes Darian says some shit that makes me out loud say “YEEUUCK”.

This feels like it’s gonna be a “trash tv” sort of read for me and I’m pumped about it, it’s so good.

My sister won’t shut up about how good this is so here we go. 🏃🏻‍♀️💨

Okay so I cry. This is fucking awful AND I READ MANACLED. 😭😭 I’m listening to it on audiobook and I want to go back and reread some chapters because I was flabbergasted, but a few things:
1) Kaine is so Astarion coded it’s not even funny.
2) The narrator sounds just like Minthara when she’s narrating Kaine.
3) Baldurs gate prepared me for this. The world building, the magic it’s so Brandon Sanderson

It’s so good I want to cry 😭😭
