Only a little ways in and kudos for this lovely group of essays. Ross Gay is a gem. A poet, an essayist and a naturalist, when Ross Gay shares his poetry or an interview, I’m mesmerized

Sooo good. Listening to the audiobook and soaking it all in. Without the print copy, I started to lose track of all the names. So halfway through I started it all over again and took notes on who was who. And it’s been a pleasure to listening to all the details and dialogue again. It’s a huge book yet I don’t want it to end. So starting again I can stretch it out!

Loved it. Lisa Jewell through and through. I listened to the audiobook with all the big hitting narrators. This book is not for readers who do not like poorly-behaved characters!

Holy Smokes. I read so many excellent reviews yet still was not prepared for Miranda’s writing!! Every sentence is a poem/its own essay. A unique combination of Mary Oliver, David Sedaris and John Irving, her astute and raw observations are a reader’s dream. I am listening to her speak her own words.

Good God, I love Dani Shapiro’s memoirs. But this novel is so poetic. I feel her voice in my bones as she narrates Signal Fires. It’s gorgeous.

I am 2/3 through the audiobook. I love this book. I love it so much that I’m already missing the characters in anticipation of finishing the book. Audio narration Tony-award worthy

The character of Andy is not cohesive. I guess McTiernan wants him to be undereducated, but perhaps because she’s Irish, she isn’t capturing that with language. One sentence: “She don’t consult me on the important things.” But the next sentence tense “She makes up her mind what needs to be done, she does it, and then she fills me in later” sounds as educated as the other characters. It’s distracting.

Miss-print Page 125 “At the same time a barn own screeched nearby“
156-157 The character Andy has some strange sentences. He never spoke like this before Chapter 17. “I know some guys who do, or did when we was younger.” And “They wasn’t even doing the cooking” I shall read on to find out if these mistakes are intentional or oversights.

It’s sooo good I had to stop the audio to tell everyone to read it. Lisa Jewell, you’re brilliant.

I bailed 1/4 into the book. I was really looking forward to this one. Characters too shallow for me.

An audio recording of Live teachings by the Buddhist nun Pema Chödron. She breaks her lectures (dharma talks) up in very digestible parts. Advice for the ages. Instruction that I will put into practice again and again.

OMG, I read another book by Keyes and loved it so much that I decided to start from the beginning with Watermelon, the first of the Walsh Family Series. I downloaded the audiobook from the library and ooooo I am in love! I’ve laughed out loud so many times at the sheer humanity. Marian Keyes writes what we are all thinking but are afraid to let our crazy hang out. I can’t wait to listen to the rest.
