The Phoenix
The Phoenix is on page 97 of 241 of The Voyage of Christopher Columbus: Columbus' Own Journal of Discovery Newly Restored and Translated
It's amazing how little Christopher Columbus values the lives of Islanders. Seriously. He journals how he just found this island and is going to take 6 or 7 of the people back to Spain. Of course , it has to be by force. They don't speak the language. And how he says only about 50 men would be needed to take over the island and make the people do whatever they wanted them to do. Ugh.

It's very interesting. Just read about Mohammed. Next will be Jesus. I'm very slow moving on this. Not because I lack interest in the subject matter, but because I've been struggling with mental health and listening to audiobooks has been a way to enjoy things I like when I'm depressed. Unfortunately, this book isn't on audiobook on Libby.

The Phoenix
The Phoenix is on page 102 of 327 of The Cabin
Ok, so, I think that Blake is just too obvious a choice to be the killer. Aaron did make a threat and then there was the big reveal about Kyle's affair. Megan was super hysterical about the whole thing, but she could be faking it. My daughter thinks it's Mackenzie, the one who is telling the story. I'm not sure who it is yet, but pretty positive that it's not Blake.

I've only read the authors note, and already I have learned some interesting things about New Orleans. This looks like it's going to be a good read!

The Phoenix
The Phoenix is on page 260 of 441 of Eleanor of Aquitaine: A Life (World Leaders Past & Present)
'After Richard's departure, Eleanor dispatched John to England- possibly to keep an eye on Longchamp-then, in the late summer or early autumn of 1190, herself left for Bourdeaux on the first stage of her journey to collect Berengaria. Some modern writers suggest that the princess was brought to Eleanor at Bordeaux, but there are several contemporary accounts of Eleanor crossing the Pyrenees to Navarre....'

'They spent the remainder of the afternoon cutting out the rest of the holes that would be windows. Helen went around with the drill, making holes in each corner, and Nate followed her with the saw, making the cuts, letting the pieces of plywood fall out to the ground below. They didn't talk about the deer or what Helen had seen the night before....'

So, I'm trying to decide if I think Olive is taking Nate's stuff or if it's the spirit...or someone that is not being focused on right now....

"In 1183 Henry was fifty and, thanks to his ceaseless exertions, aged beyond years. His hair was grey, his stocky body had become corpulent, and years of sitting in the saddle had made him bow-legged. Thanks to a well-aimed kick from a horse, he was lame in one leg...."

"Get thee back, return, get thee back, thou crocodile-fiend Sui; thou shalt not advance to me, for I live by reason of the magical words which I have by me. I do not utter that name of thine to the great god who will cause thee to come to the divine envoys; the name of the one is Betti, and the name of the other is 'Hra-k-en-Maat'. "

The Phoenix is on page 142 of 385 of The Bible Unearthed: Archaeology's New Vision of Ancient Israel and the Origin of Its Sacred Texts
'The material culture of the highlands in the time of David remained simple. The land was overwhelmingly rural-with no trace of written documents, inscriptions, or even signs of the kind of widespread literacy that would be necessary for the functioning of a proper monarchy. From a demographic point of view, the area of the Israelite settlement was hardly homogeneous.'
