truly, chapter 38 of us against you has no right to make me cry as hard as it always makes me cry.

I am being so grown up in my reading life and am tracking these reads of three books as one (because I think this is an I’m bored and need a mindless “comfort” reread. It’s not deep. Maybe. I’m in too deep.)

i knew i was in trouble when the epigraph was mirrorball by taylor swift!!

going in for the reread to prepare me for book three!!! something about the bay view four i find COMPULSIVELY readable.

justice for the canadian u’s dropped from this book title!!!

i have to be honest with you: it’s like a less fun sophie kinsella book, i’m not actually sure i like it, but i will be continuing to read

an oldest sister that has to be a fixer?
a book with all sisters?
an homage to a classic i still haven’t read?

when you start to tear up in the opening of a book & think, “…is she writing this about me?” YOU HAVE FOUND A GOOD ONE.

No doubt about it, i am ready to get hurt (and buy my mom the audiobook when I reach the halfway point and need someone to talk to about it)

it was when the walking talkie said, “hello” and “come here” that i was like:

how is this the second book i've read in a month that has "girl has family thing where she can see ghosts" - i mean, it's weird that that happened twice

I AM AT 70% and am SCREAMING ALONE IN MY HOUSE.

i have to be honest: there’s a 9/11 chapter & so, naturally, i did indeed tear up while reading this on a plane. I AM NOT PROUD. but i am being truthful. good day.

if you’ve ever planned a wedding and thought it was hard (or have a brain! or hve a heart!) reading indecisive belly plan a wedding at 19 is not the move. i can’t stop reading but i’m grouchy

the thing i want to remember when i write my review: the specific physical details abby uses to describe Jacob’s anxiety. the way it feels in his body… wow wow wow. i also can’t stop reading.

i regret to inform you that had i read this between the years of 2009 - early 2016, i would have been unbearable!!

help, i’m only on the second essay and i’m being hurt by the words,

“you were angry and you didn’t have anyone who understood and so you made him into everything. your defining story. it had to be a story that mattered, otherwise what was it all for?”

really excited to read, really hoping the second half contains an example of a woman doing deep work & thriving in all aspects of her life because the first ten percent has me nervous!
