what a wonderful reprieve from hyper ironic autofiction. i think verginia woolf said it was her favorite book so that’s why i got it, although maybe it was someone else …

okay okay 10 months later 100 pages in i am coming around to it. feels like a seethe, and unfortunately as with so many other « it » books written by women these days i relate to the unreliable and unlikeable narrator a bit too much. more indicting of the type than my year of rest and relaxation though.

very happy that this came out since i reread the idiot at the beginning of the year. selon is the only character i want to be around in my current state of infection. i think il be really sad when i finish it but maybe i actually just read some literature for once.
