This book could have been saved by 2000's Nora. Current Nora is disappointing and lazy.

"I slept through it, Son. Whatever happened to him, I slept right through it." Are we surprised??? Cleo is barely a character in this story and every time anything remotely interesting happens she's either sleeping or conveniently somewhere else. I can't with the stupidity...

Clover's ghost using music to communicate has become too much. It went from "aw, cute" to being intrusive, cringy and inappropriate. Mostly cringy. These characters can't have a serious moment to themselves without Clover blasting Taylor Swift to get her two cents in. What am I even reading anymore.

305 pages into this book... ask me if anything of real importance has happened yet. Nope. No such luck. There is a lot of talking about potentially important stuff though, a lot of going in circles, a lot of recounting shit that just happened so that everyoooone is in the loop.

9 chapters, 150 pages in and NOTHING has happened, much like the LAST book. Why do we need to be told the same thing 3 or 4 times? why am I still stuck in Sonya's shitty, boring and predictable POV? why do we have 4 "main" characters and I, as the reader, can't get a fucking break from this woman who does nothing but tell me about her work day and how many times a day she lets the pets out in one day.
