Ghalib had cats, why am I not surprised?

'Patol Babu, Film Star' is a deeply moving short story and has been, ever since I read it as part of our English syllabus in middle school.

Ishiguro really outdoes himself with the tone of this novel, I'd say the title is as much about the story as it is about the reader.

I get pretty sad when 2 people meant to be together don't really make it because of miscommunication. Everyone please communicate and tell people what you feel.

Who are we? What is success? What are friendships? What are these socially acceptable things?

Quite a lot to think about. A physically unattractive musician goes in for plastic surgery in hopes of kickstarting his career after his wife leaves him.

Malvern Hills: 3.5/5

A short tale about creating, about artists and about far away magical places. Could've been in a Lonely Earth issue.

Come Rain or Come Shine: 4/5

Old friendships, damaged relationships and plenty of misunderstandings. Quite a fun, emotional read.

Crooner: 4/5

Such a laidback story, it felt like I went on vacation to Venice for half an hour. Ishiguro made me forget about the quarantine for a while, and for that I can only be happy.

Might as well rename it to 2034
