I haven't quite figured out the fine differences between Atkins-style low-carb and paleo, but paleo is what many cardiologists recommend to their patients, so I'm checking it out.

The chemistry lessons are interesting, but make parts of this book a challenging read. However, it's good information, quite reminiscent of Atkins (although this book addresses wheat specifically). It also reinforces what I heard while I was in the hospital. It seems that what was once considered medical blasphemy is now much more accepted and common knowledge.

I'm finally getting to the meaty part; alternatives to wheat and how, exactly, to eliminate it from my diet (although that part has been remarkably easy).
