Current audiobook listen. I had a long drive to Fresno today so I started this one not knowing what it was about. The company vehicle wouldn’t let me change the speed of the narrator so I was stuck at 1.6x . Didn’t really know what the story was about when I went into it. It’s been a little slow so far and I’m not really sure how else the story can develop since Luzia hurt somebody by mistake. Whoopsies.

Not really feeling the name “Ransom”…. ? If you just leave the name as “Guardian”, I’ll be ok. But she keeps calling him Ransom. And I hate it lol

I like the points of view in this book. Enjoying it so far.

When are they going to do the reveal????? Ahhhhhh

Really enjoying this so far. It feels whimsical.

Listening to the audiobook. I already think I know what the twist is…. The male narrator is trying his best to lower his voice and it sounds a bit stupid, Ngl. I don’t like his voice 75% of the time, but the story is fine. We are still TRAVELING by horse and TRAINING with two daggers and FALLING over our feet at 35%

Ok I lied about taking a break and actually ended up speeding up the audio and skipping through the sexy scenes bc I don’t care about them and wow, who would have seen that ending coming? Not me…. (Sarcasm). Tink is the best thing about this book. But I’m still not sure about the brownie in the bush.

Taking a break from this book for a day or two. Plots finally coming together but the romance part of these romantasy books is always a little too much for me and I need a break. I can definitely tell this is a JLA book by her writing style after listening to three books from across several series.

I guess if you’re a 22 year old college student, being intimate with your work partner might be normal after 4 days of knowing one another but I really can’t relate to some of these stories.

I liked the preface about the reference to pop culture of the time. Harry Potter being the controversial topic.

These books are funny. I’m finding that I don’t think there is anything great about the writing itself, but at least it’s entertaining.

Britannica has arrived. Poor thing.

So now they’ve moved onto singing. And since slavers are property, and businessmen are ruthless, damage has been done to another woman to get at the nearby competition. Sad.

I like the story so far. The depictions of what men can be like are accurate. It’s true that the more civilized society became, the better off people lived. We gained more rights and freedoms. Men with power have always had freedoms. In this book, there are men slaves, too. Humans were, and still are, barbarous towards one another. We should never forget how recent it was that certain people had no rights at all.

Two Sanderson books at once??? Yes, I know, it’s crazy, but something in me wants to read the books in publication order because that’s what I was told was the best. I’ve read Mistborn, so technically I’m out of order, but that was so long ago. I’m also pausing The Way of Kings for now. I need to start from the beginning, I think.

Women went through so much hardship at this time. Obviously I mean these fictional characters and the real ones that lived during this time. This was a time when women were essentially property. Women were not always slaves, but in many societies, it was common. Sometimes they could be well loved. But with wars rampant their protection (fathers, brothers, husbands) could be killed and their freedoms stripped. Harsh

lol, Dimitri would never!!!! Aiden making comfort moves like hugs???? lolololololol something Scott this is really cringe. I’ll finish this book, but I think I prefer the stoicism and surprise from Dimitri over this.

It’s annoying how in this world mean get to decide the fate of everyone. And they get to talk openly when complaining about the deals that they made behind closed doors with no one complaining.
