Am I the only who gets excited when recognizes a narrator from a book that i loved in the past. In this case it's Leighton Pugh, who narrated Germinal by Zola, and from where I started my current journey through French classics. Most of which I loved. Maupassant, Balzac, Flaubert, Pierre de Laclos and Proust. Not Stendhal, I'm afraid.

This short book is so hard to read. It's too good in what it wants to transmit. I need breaks between chapters, it is so heart wrenching.

Brutal and absurdly funny

This is really good, but not a page turner.
