This book doesnt have to be this long. If it's going to be "THEY DONT UNDERSTAND" ad nauseum for this much longer I give up. Why do the mains keep building up on previous assumptions and why do they act like a murderous courage the cowardly dog at the sight of an egg?

I can't give up on this story. It's too good, and the wikiholing for each concept is addictive. I've been on deep dives for nearly almost every concept mentioned just to get a sense of it. But also why I took a break— none of the answers are satisfying. Reminds me why I love hard scifi.

This feels a lot different from the first in this series. a lot of exposition on social issues versus the allure technology which is a welcome change... still a lot of mystery tech though. the closer the rover gets to things on the moon base, the more horrific it feels. i feel like i woke up in middle of the ocean and am afraid to open my eyes reading those parts. the exploration of sociology is very localized.

This is so clearly a damnation of ableism I have to wonder if the other reviewers are being willfully ignorant because it's by a mainland Chinese author

I have ADD, a personality disorder, sciatica, and chronic major depression. So far, it seems like the ableism I've experienced in waking life is about to elicit some "too real" moments while reading this. I can't see ablelism being an authorship problem yet. It seems to moreso be a plot issue present in a dystopian setting.
