SO GOOD

I really want to like this book, but thus far it's just very...unremarkable. The writing isn't bad per se, but it's definitely teetering around "mediocre" & "okay."
My biggest issue so far is that it is so LONG. I keep thinking I've made progress, only to look up & find I'm not even 1/3 of the way through. Maybe things will improve...but I'm not sure if I can stick around & keep reading long enough to find out.

FINALLY obtained a copy of this book so I can finish it!! Unfortunately it's been so long that I'm going to have to reread the half I've already been through, but on the bright side, this book is AMAZING! yayyyy

I'm beginning to think Jane Austen's greatest talent lies in her ability to create characters so realistic you could easily meet them on the street, yet so terribly obnoxious that you just REALLY want to slap them in the face. I used to think Mr. Collins (or a host of other characters, really) was the worst. But that was before I met Mrs. Elton. Good Lord she is AWFUL!
