If I wasn’t reading this for my book club I’d of dnf’d it a second time. I’m just… bored. I don’t know if it’s the pacing or the first person perspective, but I have no investment or interest. The writing isn’t bad and the subject should entice me but it doesn’t. However I’m making a game for myself by trying to prove my theories of what’s happening by keeping notes which is helping.

Oh dear god
I felt like I was reading a thriller waiting for what would happen next and how things would resolve. So much happens.
But also, this book is funnier then it has right to be I am cackling

Oh my god what a whirlwind.
I’m mortified and titillated by the intrigues of the social laws. Queer culture has had to adapt and weave itself through classism, sexism, religious prejudice(not to mention all the other isms not even at play here) and survived, flourished in some cases, despite it all. I’m grateful to see a recreating of it proving it has always been there and will always will be.

I always forget adult romances often have sex scenes and then I’m like “WOAH. nice,” lmao
This couple is so sweet and I’m so invested in seeing them grow— BUT ALSO in seeing them suffer. Just a little, as a treat.

A stranger in the book store cornered me to tell me how good this is and then the internet promised queer shit and weird armpit stuff
so i have high expectations

All my theories are unraveling and I love it.

So far so good. Tho I'm often sounding "a person who hates u wouldnt CARE THIS MUCH" at the book.

My heart…. The way I was crushed under the realization, piled on by all those small moments that seemed so innocent. I knew this book would hurt but not like this.

Had to force myself to put it down and sleep last night and now I keep staring at it while trying to get some manner of chores done.
